Let’s have some fun together unboxing Cricut Joy and DIY greeting card tutorial. Find out all these new machine’s features and fun projects to make.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.
Now if you haven’t seen anything adorable lately, your mind is about to be blown with just that!! The new Cricut Joy has to be the cutest crafting machine I have ever seen. Because of its size, anyone can craft at a whole other level than ever before.
You can carry it from room to room and no longer have to have a designated craft room or crafting space. I’m even thinking of craft parties with all your friends. Just pack it up to take to a friend’s house and start crafting. You can craft a project in less than 15 minutes either using a cutting mat or no mat.
Now if you are thinking you already have a Cricut cutting machine, why the Cricut Joy too? Well great question. First of all, more crafting fun so why not?! But in all seriousness, this machine can now create more projects with long cuts that no other machine can make. Their new smart vinyl allows cuts up to 20′. Plus simple projects are even quicker and easier with its compact size. Also check out the matching tool sets to make your crafting even easier.
I can’t wait to share this beauty up close and in more detail. Check out the unboxing video below for all its features and also make a greeting card with me using Cricut’s blank insert card sets.
For this DIY card, I’m using the insert card packs from Cricut and the CardMat. I picked several different designs from Design Space and made a variety of cards. They have so many ready to make projects specifically designed for the Cricut Joy which makes it even easier to create.
Open the card and place it under the plastic flap on the cardmat to protect the back of the card from being cut. Always make sure to align the card to the top left corner for a precise cut.
Then follow the prompts through Cricut’s Design Space for loading the mat into the Cricut Joy. Design Space makes it so easy to create projects with so many just waiting for you.
Next I removed the card from the cutting mat. You may use the tools mentioned above to help with any negative cuts that try to stay behind. The tools also help with cleaning the mat of the negative cuts too.
To finish off the card, pick a color insert card from the card pack and place it behind the cover of the card using the cut notches in each corner. You can adhere it in place using an adhesive runner if you want to but you don’t have to.
I’m absolutely in love with how this Mother’s Day card turned out and can’t wait to make more. I am so amazed at how the cuts are so perfect even on the most intricate ones.
I played around using different cards and inserts and just couldn’t stop. I was truly surprised at how quick and easy it was to make them. These are perfect for when you need a card at the last minute or don’t have time to run to the store.
I would love to know what project you would love to make with the Cricut Joy. Make sure to check out all the details and grab yours HERE. Happy Crafting!!
