If you are anything like me then you love and enjoy Bible journaling but would love to try new and different techniques that havenโt always been your strength. We are all artists, but itโs perfectly natural and real to strive to be better with our skills.
That one technique that I would love to work on and challenge myself to use more in my journaling Bible is watercolor. The results are stunning and breathtaking for me. For you that may be something different. Either way I hope today will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and learn something new.
When the June devotional kit from Illustrated Faith showed up, I knew I had to work on my watercolor skills right away. The design and artwork used for this kit is stunning and uses some of that watercolor style. (Keep reading for an unboxing video below.)
Before we jump into how you can challenge yourself too, letโs check out all that goodness included in this monthโs kit.
Supplies:
- 1 plastic pouch
- 1 devotional booklet
- 1 clear stamp collection
- 1 roll of washi tape
- 1 sheet of cut-out paper pieces
- 2 cardstock sticker sheets
- 3 tip-ins
- 1 magnet
- 1 thank you card from Shanna
Check out my unboxing video on my YouTube Channel to see the kit in more detail, up close, and personal. This video is also great for anyone who might be on the fence about ordering one.
These kits are made with such detail and attention that it truly is hard to find anything else that compares to them. And I know they are all prayed over that they will be a blessing to someone else.
Kristin Wolbach is the designer for this month. Her message below is so inspiring and encouraging to me as this year has been quite a difficult one at times.
โJoin me as I share with you ways God has asked me to step out in faith – with the heart of a warrior – all while learning more about who He really is. I look forward to seeing how God speaks to you through His words and, that above all, we learn how to RISE UP in the name of Jesus.โ ย – Kristen Wolbach
The mountains that are included on the plastic pouch and the devotional booklet cover are gorgeous and really inspired me to use my watercolors more and learn new techniques so that is exactly what I did.
In case you are wondering, the watercolors from Illustrated Faith are also amazing with such deep and rich colors. They come in a metal case that is perfect to use as a palette with mixing colors or for travel.
I also love to journal in the devotional booklet each day. This is a great way to try out several techniques especially if you are like me and can’t always decide on just one.
Other artistic details in the kit include brush strokes of color. I am planning to use acrylic paints in my Bible for certain entries to match this same design. If you havenโt used paint in your Bible or journal, then I challenge you to try it during this devotional.
The theme is โRise Upโ so letโs do exactly that with conquering maybe a fear of using a certain supply, learning a new technique, etc. At the same time, we can rise up spiritually and be who God has called us to be.
SEND MY KIT ASAP!!!
Please join me this month and letโs โRise Upโ together. Let me know in the comments below what new technique or challenge you plan on conquering this month. I would love to know as we work and encourage each other. Last monthโs kit was a blast and so colorful. You can still order it HERE too if you are interested.
