Moss and Twine Wrapped Easter Bunny

I can’t believe that March is already half way through and April is upon us which means Easter!! Easter is such a fun holiday with Easter egg hunts and Sunday family dinners. But we must not forget the true reason for celebrating and that is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

You will never believe what this bunny looked like before. Come to thesoutherncouture.com and see what is wrapped under all that twine. A perfect decoration to use for not only Easter but Spring as well.

Keep reading to the end and check out 16 other Easter ideas that some of my blogging friends have come up with too. We have teamed up with an Easter post blog hop which to me are the most fun. I love seeing how unique each of our creativity is and what we come up with.

I love to keep the excitement of each holiday alive in our house by having a fun craft to make. I found this cardboard bunny at the Dollar Tree that was cute, but needed the outline of a bunny for what I wanted to do with it even more. Plus it only cost me $1.00 so I didn’t mind to cover it up.

What you will need:

Leave about an inch space at the bottom to cover with moss at the end. Place a dot of hot glue about 1” from the bottom and then place the twine in the glue and let it harden.

Start wrapping the twine around the bunny until it is completely covered. Get comfortable for this part and just keep wrapping. I think my husband and I were actually watching American Idol while I made this.

*Parts of the rabbit where it curves could be challenging to keep the twine in place. I placed some hot glue on the edges of the curves to keep the twine in place which was helpful. Don’t worry if the rabbit shows through some. The silver glitter shows some with mine but really just adds some glitz.

I bought my moss at the dollar store in the floral section. Squirt some hot glue at the bottom 1” of the rabbit and then just place the moss. This part is a little messy.

On the tail glue several white pom-poms in place which I also found at the dollar store in the arts and crafts section.

*Now that I think of it, everything came from the dollar store except the twine and hot glue gun making this craft so affordable but looking much more expensive and store bought.

Tie a colorful ribbon around the neck of the rabbit and you are done. This ribbon was in the Easter section at the dollar store and is perfect with all the bright colors. I loved that it could also be used for other Spring projects and not just Easter.

I stood my rabbit on a plaque stand to display and have ended up putting it on my kitchen counter to add a little Spring color. Pair it with a miniature grapevine wreath and speckled Easter eggs for a centerpiece. Stay tuned later this week where I will share another way to use this grapevine wreath and eggs to decorate for Easter.

You could also add a ribbon to the top and hang it over your mantle or even on your front door.

Enjoy this Easter spending time with family and remembering why we celebrate, our Savior.

I love this! I saw that bunny at the Dollar Tree and almost bought it to do something with it, but I opted for the blue sparkly one instead. The twine looks great and the moss at the base just adds to the overall great look.

The moss and twine rabbit is a cute decoration that I’d like to have in my house. No worries that it’d be broken by my little one. I think it’s simple enough even I could do it.

Maybe you could hang it where it wouldn’t get messed up or place it on a tall shelf where the little ones can’t reach it. You could totally do it.
