Using the Print then Cut Feature with Cricut Explore Air 2 Plus FREE Printable

Cut out any design you please and learn how to using the print then cut feature with Cricut Explore Air 2 plus FREE printable.

Over the past two weeks, you have been introduced to the Cricut Explore Air 2 and also have seen just a snippet of what it can do with my “Hangry” apron using iron-on vinyl. Today we are going to explore a whole different concept and project using this same crafting machine. Your mind is about to be blown!

Get to Know the Cricut Explore Air 2

The PRINT THEN CUT Feature

Did you know that you can actually use your printer to print different objects but then have your Cricut machine recognize the printables and cut it out? Well it sure can!! And it’s simple to do. I have step-by-step instructions with screenshots of the Cricut Design Space software to walk you through the whole thing so no worries there.

But before we print then cut, we need something to actually print. You can print using different objects from the Cricut Design Space software or design your own using design software. I love designing my own depending on the occasion specifically for my planner or Bible journaling.

Using the Print then Cut Feature with Cricut Explore Air 2 Plus FREE Printable

That’s where this FREE printable came from. I wanted to illustrate the storms of life in my journaling Bible so I made raindrops and clouds with different quotes for my Bible entry. These would also be fun to use for a weekly planner theme to decorate with. *Keep reading in order to get your downloadable file for your printable below.

I just love the polka dots and sprinkles with the bright pops of color. The only thing is that it becomes tiresome and tedious when you have so many different little designs with intricate outlines to cut by hand. The Cricut will cut all of these out for me so I don’t have to spend the time doing it and getting frustrated because my lines aren’t perfectly straight. Then using a few Cricut tools, I can easily remove the paper cuts from the mat.

Choose the complexity of your image. For this printable, choose the “Moderately complex image.”

Now you are going to want to make a few simple changes to the image so that each part is cut individually instead of the entire rectangle being cut out as 1 single object.

  1. Click the tool as shown below beside #1.
  2. Then click the background or white space. This will make the background transparent so the Cricut will recognize each individual part to cut them separately.
  3. Then click “Continue.”

You will then choose whether to save the image as a “Print then Cut” or just as a “Cut image.” Choose “Print then Cut” for this project. You can also name the file and add tags so it is easier to find later once saved in Cricut Design Space. Then click “Save.”

Using the Print then Cut Feature with Cricut Explore Air 2 Plus FREE Printable

The file will now be saved under your “Uploaded Images Library” as shown below. Below you will see the #1 which is the file to choose for this project. You will notice that each individual part shows black lines outlining each one. This is where the Cricut machine will cut. The 2nd image below show the entire printable outlined with the black line meaning Cricut will only cut the entire image as one piece, and not individually.

  1. You will now select the file we just saved.
  2. Then click “Insert image.”

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. I pinky promise. #CentrumFunFlavors #CollectiveBias

Trying to keep the chaos and insanity of our daily schedules can become quite the chore. Using a planner to organize and balance everyday life is the trick.

Let’s face it. Everyday life can become tiresome and overwhelming. With 2017 being fast on our heels, let’s start the new year off right by finding ways to keep that chaos to a minimal while also maintaining our sanity.  Using a planner to organize and balance everyday life has been the solution that truly works for me and can work for you too. I use my planner for my daily job, blog, family, church, etc. I even use my planner to remind myself daily to drink water, exercise, and take my multivitamins by having it written down on each day of the planner for that week. My choice  in vitamins is the Centrum® MultiGummies®. And yes they have gummy vitamins for adults too if you have never tried them. More details on these below.

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

Now let’s get those planners ready so you can balance the daily tasks and keep things as organized as much as possible.

I start at the beginning of each week and look ahead and what I have going on for that week alone. Don’t try to overwhelm yourself with stuff that happens months down the road if you don’t have to. Keep it in mind but focus on what has to be done the upcoming week. On the weekly view of your planner, organize different sections into different areas of your life. I usually have the 3 sections in mine broke down into Home/Work, Blog, and Health/Family.

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

I add sticky notes, tabs, washi tape, stamps, etc. to add pretty detail but also to keep me organized. I am a lists person and always writing down everything so I don’t forget it. That is key!!! Write it down. The washi tape can also be used to designate each category of your life to one color or design to keep you even more organized. I will do this at times, but I really just love to use it to add some fun pops of color.

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

For the bottom section with Health/Family, I go ahead and write in daily a checklist for water, exercise, and vitamins/medications. If I don’t write it down then chances are I won’t do it and will forget. As I mentioned before, I make sure to pick up my Centrum® MultiGummies® at Walmart during my routine shopping trip so I can keep that health box checked off everyday.

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

Centrum ® MultiGummies ® contain three natural flavors: Berry, Cherry, and Orange. But wait, there’s more… These multi-benefit multivitamins include 100% or more of essential nutrients, Vitamins B12, D, and E. They make it easy for me to check that one but very important part of my day off knowing that I am supporting my health while also maintaining the busy duties of everyday life. Centrum® MultiGummies® makes it easy for me to support my health while enjoying my busy lifestyle.

Using a Planner to Organize and Balance Everyday Life

Now to keep things from sneaking up on me that are a month or two in advance, I will usually review the month at the beginning of that month in my planner and start planning ahead. Sometimes that means adding in certain tasks each week until I am completely prepared. This really helps from having to do so much the week of a party for example and being totally overwhelmed. I will review the monthly view each week as well just to be sure to stay on top of things and checking for any changes.

We all have hectic lives at times with so many different responsibilities. Why not help ourselves out when we can and make things a bit easier on us? In this new year, you can do exactly that by preparing ahead, using a planner, and making our health a priority with Centrum® MultiGummies®. If you are already at Walmart shopping for groceries all the time like I am then go ahead and swing by the pharmacy and pick yours up.

What do you use to handle your busy lifestyle and make things a little easier? Let me know in the comments below. Plus I’d love to know if you have any other good tips for dealing with the everyday chaos and how you use your planner.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Everyday has enough stress and worry of its own, but start each day on the right foot by using a daily planner to stay organized and also reduce stress at the same time.

Certain days doesn’t it just feel like you could crawl right back in bed, get some more snooze, and then start all over again? We all feel that way at some point. But what if I told you there is a way to steer clear of those days.

How I Use My Planner

It all comes down to using a planner for me personally to stay organized and know exactly what needs to be accomplished that day and what to start planning for in the near future.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Life can become so chaotic. For me personally, I juggle a full-time job as well as my blog so I really have to pay attention everyday to my planner so that I don’t miss any deadlines with blog posts. Add kids to the mix, and you have a whole other ball game to worry about.

Below are several techniques I have used to stay organized every day. Depending on the season in my life, I switch back and forth between what works for me. You really just have to find the right fit for you.

Using Washi Tape

Organize your life into categories such as work, home, church, etc. and then assign a color of washi tape for each category. *Do not pick any washi that is too dark or a design that is very busy. You will not be able to read it once you write on top of it.

How to Use Washi Tape and More to Organize Your Planner 3

Then use a certain color washi on a day when that specific category has an appointment, event etc. I use a ultra fine point sharpie marker to write on top of the washi what the event is.

How to Use Washi Tape and More to Organize Your Planner

If the date needs to change, you can easily pull up the washi tape and move it to another day without ruining the page of your planner. That’s my favorite part! I hate having to mark through something.

I will keep a “key” in the back of my planner so I can always reference each color if I need to.

Using Colored Pens

If you love using colored pens then you can do the same thing with pens as I did with washi tape before. Just assign a certain color pen to each category. My favorite colored pens are the Paper Mate Flairs. They have so many different colors, and they don’t bleed through the page.

How to Organize Your Planner with Washi Tape 8

The only problem with the colored pens is that if you don’t always have your pens with you, then it becomes difficult to keep this up. I tend to be OCD so it drove me crazy. You could always write in pencil and then write it in the colored pen later.

Using Page Flags

Another option that adds dimension and color to your pages while staying organized is to use the decorative page flags. I have several in different colors and designs. They remove easily from the page if needing to rearrange anything.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Use the same concept as the colored pens and washi tape. Why not use a combination of them all and really add more color to your pages to make your day brighter? I have found the prettier it looks and is written down, the more likely I am to get things done. Our minds play such tricks on us huh?

Using Sticky Notes

On my weekly view, I always have several sticky notes attached to keep lists of groceries, to-do items, etc. When I am done with the list, all I have to do is peel it off and I have a fresh new sticky note for the next day.

My Current Planner

The Happy Planner is my most current planner, and man do I love it! The cover designs and designs on the pages throughout are gorgeous. The binder hooks are beautiful. Check out my post on tips for back to school planner organization to see more detailed views and how I use it specifically.

And no, I’m not getting paid to say all those wonderful things about The Happy Planner. I really just love it that much and all the accessories they have to go along with it.

Last and MOST Important Tip

Start each week on Sunday afternoon planning for the week ahead. For me personally, I know exactly what needs to be done and can plan ahead. I also feel as if I am getting a fresh start to my week. This may be a small detail but SUPER helpful.

Do you have a favorite way to stay organized every day and keep the chaos to a minimum? Let me know. I always love to find new ways to stay organized using my planner.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Stay organized this year with some tips for back to school planner organization. Start the school year and each week off right.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s just about back to school time. Wow! Makes me a little sad. There is just something about the joy and freedom that summer seems to bring.

The best way to deal with it though is to just hit it head on and make the best of it. You also have to plan for it ahead of time to stay organized. Then you aren’t running around like a chicken with your head cut off every morning trying to wrangle up the kiddos and all their belongings.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

The best way I know how to stay organized and on top of things is to keep my planner up to date. I can’t wait to share these tips for back to school planner organization with you. Hopefully they will make a difference for you whether you have kids, are in school yourself, or just like to keep your work and household straightened out.

The Happy Planner

You may remember several months ago that I attended SNAP conference in Salt Lake City. It is basically a really awesome bloggers conference that leaves you exhausted, rejuvenated, and excited all at the same time.

While I was talking with Michaels, I was gifted with The Happy Planner.  Now my love for planners is real and always has been. So when they placed this beauty in my hands, I was about to go crazy. My roommate Amanda, from A Crafted Passion, and I both received one and were ecstatic. (And no, I’m not getting paid to say all these wonderful things. I really just love it that much.)

I mean, just look at this floral beauty. I love the cover and how it’s laminated with a thick plastic to protect it all year. The binding is made of gold discs with hearts in the middle that can be changed out to different colors if I wanted. The inside cover has a beautiful design with the first page leaving a place for your name. I spelled mine out with scrapbook stickers.

Supplies to Help You Get Organized

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

#1 Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens

I have been wanting these pens for so long and finally decided to just get them. They write so smooth and do not bleed through my pages. The pack I got had 20 different colors which is so awesome. I shared a post before about using colored pens to keep your organized in your planner. These would be perfect for that too.

*And in case you love to Bible journal like I do, these are great for thin Bible pages.

#2 Alpha stickers

Another great supply that comes out of my Bible journaling stash are these alpha stickers. I have to be careful when going to any craft store because you can never seem to have enough styles or colors. These are perfect for adding detail to pages and spelling out special events or days.

#3 Washi tape

I use washi tape to add decoration and color to my pages. You can also use washi tape to keep you organized having different colors tape for different categories of your life or schedule. Check out this post HERE for more details.

#4 Page Flags

You can divide your planner into different sections using page flags as your markers. I will elaborate on this more in just a little bit. Page flags are also a great way to add attention to a particular event or item that you do not want to forget about.

Tips for Planner Organization

In The Happy Planner, at the beginning of every month, is this monthly page to help you gear up for the month ahead. There is a “Currently” section which I just love because you can always go back months or a year later and see what your family was in to or enjoying at the time almost like a journal.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

You can keep track of goals for the month, birthdays, and important dates. I added kraft stickers to highlight the birthdays and just add some extra dimension.

A monthly calendar view is a perfect way to map out the entire month on one page. There is something about seeing what is to come and preparing for it ahead of time that helps take out the surprise factor and any chaos.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

I add page flags to certain dates to remind me of special events or any special projects that may be due. This is a perfect way to mark if you have any exams, or if you have kids with a sports game or play.

Now the weekly view is probably my favorite part. There is a ton of space to add everything I have going on. The great part is having 3 different sections at the top, middle, and bottom. Labeling each section with page flags for a different area in your life is a great way to keep everything separate and balanced without losing track of something. i.e. Home, School, Work

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Add stickers as you like to add any extra decoration. Every week I also include some kind of notepad to keep running list and attach them with washi tape. I got this weekly to-do notepad at Target a while back and absolutely love it to highlight what I have to do that week and keep me on top of things.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Extra Features

I also just wanted to let you know about a few extra pages that are included that are helpful. There are 2 pages with the full calendar for the entire year for 2016 and 2017 as a quick reference when needing to plan ahead.

In the back of the planner is a page designated just for “Notes” when needing to jot down some quick thoughts. Add sheets from a notepad for extra space and attach with washi tape if you happen to run out of room.

And if it couldn’t get any better; this planner is actually from July 2016-December 2017. I love when planners give me extra months. I always feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.

Tips for Back to School Planner Organization Collage

Now that you know what supplies to use and ideas to use your planner more efficiently, sit down and start planning ahead for this new school year. It’s also a good habit to sit down each week on Sunday night or Monday morning and plan for the week ahead. You will be so happy you did when you don’t have to worry about any last minute surprises catching you off guard.

Again, I am not being paid to say all this about The Happy Planner. I really and truly do love this planner. I have tried several different kinds that I really loved, but I love all the fun accessories that you can add to this planner to make it even better. I will have to share with y’all soon extras that you can add in so stay tuned hopefully for that.

So for now, get organized and have some fun in the process. You might as well!

DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy

Get ready for all those summer gatherings with this bright DIY outdoor utensil caddy that will keep everything organized and bright at the same time.

Who is so ready and glad that summer is here? I know I am. The last few months I have been sick off and on which made it really hard for me to get some energy. Being outdoors more with this bright sunshine makes it even better.

I love to keep things organized when having guests over which is why I have the perfect quick and easy craft project today for you to make in no time. This DIY outdoor utensil caddy took me less than 30 minutes and only a few dollars.

DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy

Let’s get you going for the perfect addition to a bright party tablescape.

Supplies:

DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy

First measure and cut 2 pieces of cardboard or thick cardstock just slightly shorter than the length and height of the pail.

Then cut a slit in each piece about 2/3 of the height. *Do not cut it in two.

DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy

Below is how your cardboard pieces and pail are going to look but you must spray paint first before putting together completely.

DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy

Spray paint your cardboard pieces and metal pail until completely covered evenly. I chose this coral color from Liquitex spray paints. I actually found it on clearance at Michaels and love it. The quality is superb and coated the pail so evenly and perfect.

DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy

Once everything has dried completely, put the 2 cardboard pieces together by attaching them at the slits. Just slide the 2 open slits into each other to form a cross and place it inside the pail.

Now just add your different utensils, napkins, etc. for the perfect DIY outdoor utensil caddy. No more having to dig through the utensils for a fork but always digging out the knives that no one uses.

This would also be great used for organizing different markers, pencils, etc. and other art supplies.

Now give me a high five for simple and easy craft projects that make our lives simpler and more colorful at the same time.

Get yourself organized and ready for guests to arrive this summer with this DIY Outdoor Utensil Caddy. The bright POP of color is just adorable and perfect to reuse as an organizer in your house as well even after the party. Get the full tutorial NOW!

Travel Necessities and Planning Printable

Tis the season for sweet travels…You got any big plans this Spring Break or Summer? I promise I could just live at the beach! To help get you ready, I’m sharing my travel necessities and planning printable with y’all today. One of those necessities happens to be the new Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar and Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash. I’ve partnered with Dove to share with y’all about their New Dove Dry Oil Collection. Amazing!

Travel Necessities and Planning Printable

Traveling is supposed to be relaxing, but if you are anything like me you get this nervous and excited anxiety that starts just a few weeks before departure day. The excited part is a wonderful feeling for a new adventure. But I want to help you kick out that nervous part by relieving some stress about forgetting to pack something or not having everything taken care of before leaving.

Travel Necessities

#1: Journaling Bible

My top priority when traveling is to have my Bible with me. I enjoy starting each day of a trip, or any day for that matter, with my daily quiet time and scripture reading. It begins my day and trip with a calm and serenity.

Where to Get Started with Bible Journaling for Beginners

For those of you that have begun the Bible journaling adventure with me, be sure to bring your journaling Bible with you with just a few simple supplies such as some colored pens and date stamp. Traveling is the best time to get some inspiration and relax while documenting it all in  in your Bible. Check out how to get started with a beginners guide for Bible journaling if you are interested.

#2: Oversized Handbag

A large and oversized handbag is absolutely necessary whether I’m driving on the open road or flying high above the clouds. I want to have a bag that is big enough to carry a journal, snacks, and camera along with all the other goodies that I keep in my purse.

Travel Necessities and Planning Printable

You want something that isn’t too large that would still be comfortable to carry through an airport or while shopping. I got this handbag during the holidays, and it is definitely one of my favorites. It actually has a smaller handbag inside of it that can be removed which is perfect to quickly take out and head shopping without lugging around the larger bag.

Travel Necessities and Planning Printable

#3: Laptop or phone

Because I am a blogger, it is hard to unplug and get away from electronic devices and social media. When I’m traveling, I have found a balance that helps me to enjoy my trip and relax while still being able to document it all using the camera on my phone or my laptop.

Travel Necessities and Planning Printable

At night when I’m winding down, I find I am most inspired and motivated to write. I love being able to go back and read the details of a trip day by day and not forget anything.

#4: The New Dove Dry Oil Collection

Many of mine and Mark’s vacations include going to the beach. The salty ocean water, sand, and sunshine are relaxing but can be harsh on my skin and hair drying it out majorly. The Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar and Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash is made to cleanse my skin when I’m showering without leaving it feeling dry which can happen easily at the beach. It protects while also nourishing my skin because of its formula that consists of Moroccan Argan oil beads that helps to replenish nutrients to my skin.

Travel Necessities and Planning Printable

Because 9 in 10 women are concerned about having dry skin, Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash goes beyond basic moisturizing to help women nourish and protect their dry skin. I have been using argan oil on my hair for a long time so it only makes sense to use it for my skin too.

The Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar is also great to leave in my bathrooms at home for my family and even guests to use to wash their hands. I am constantly washing my hands so its nice to have something now that won’t dry them out.

#5: Travel Planning Printable

Before any trip, I am always making lists of all sorts of things to help me prepare. Those lists range from things that need to be taken care of before the trip, things to buy for the trip, to my packing list as well.

Because I tend to make so many list, I finally made my own travel planning printable that keeps all my notes and lists in one convenient place. Now preparing for a trip doesn’t have to be stressful anymore.

Get Your FREE Party Planning Checklist

Party Planning…These are 2 of my most favorite words especially when used together. If you feel the same way I do then I cannot wait for you to get your FREE party planning checklist.

This all came about when I started noticing how many scrap pieces of paper I would have lying around and in my purse whenever I was planning a party or having guests over. I would go from spot to spot in my house trying to find one specific To-Do list. Pure chaos?

I am always organized in every other area of my life for the most part so why not with this too? I told myself then that there has to be a better way of doing things than how I’m doing it now. That’s when I decided I would make my own party planning checklist that would allow me to keep everything in one place.

Party Planning Checklist

This printable checklist has got ya covered. Write down your theme and the color scheme and you are good to go. It all truly starts with a theme in my opinion.

How to Use Washi Tape and More to Organize Your Planner

My planner means absolutely everything to me to help me stay organized. I definitely am one of those people that needs a central place to house everything so I don’t forget. I have some pretty fun ways to show you how to use washi tape, page flags, and sticky notes in your planner to keep you organized. (Please tell me I’m not the only organization fanatic out there.)

Why I Don't Spend a Fortune on a Planner Anymore

But first…Be sure to check out my post earlier this week that lets you in on the 411 of how to still have a gorgeous planner without breaking the bank. And yes, it can be done! Your husband will thank you later for it too.

PLANNER ORGANIZATION

Washi Tape

Why I Don't Spend a Fortune on a Planner Anymore

Washi tape without a doubt is still one of my most favorite craft supplies. It can be used to do just about anything. Plus who doesn’t love all the gorgeous colors and designs you can find. The possibilities really seem to be endless.

I have found that using washi tape is the perfect way to keep everything in our hectic lives separate and organized.

Start by designating one color or design of washi tape for each area of your life or maybe for each child you have. Place a key to show what each color stands for in the back of your planner on one of the extra note pages. I made my key on a separate Project Life card and then attached it in the back with washi tape in case I needed to change any of the colors in the future.

How to Use Washi Tape and More to Organize Your Planner

I usually organize mine with church, family, appointments, blog, bills, etc. I have even used the washi tape for the month view and a colored pen for the weekly view so it doesn’t become too full with the tape.

Then when you are planning your month or week ahead of time, you can use the designated color to keep events separate. For example, your oldest child may have a dentist appointment on Thursday, so you would use their color by cutting a piece of tape and placing it on that day. Then you can write over the top of the tape the dentist appointment.

And what’s even better is that if the appointment needs to change, the washi tape can be removed easily without tearing the page.

Feel free to use washi tape to add some extra color and decoration as well instead of the same boring calendar. Make organizing fun.

Page flags

Another fun way to keep different areas of your life organized is with page flags. You can find basic page flags in any office store. But now more and more stores are selling paper flags in all different colors and designs.

My favorite place to look for these in the past has been at Target in the dollar spot. You can also make your own using scrapbook paper in any design you like.

I love to use these page flags when scheduling blog posts. I will write the post idea on the flag and then place on whatever day I plan to schedule it to go live. If I need to move the post to another day for some reason, the page flag can easily be moved with tearing the page which is similar to washi tape.

Sticky Notes

One flaw that most people find in their planners is that they just don’t always have enough room to write in everything that they have to do that week. That is no longer a problem.

Use sticky notes to add space or realty to your planner. The weekly view in my planner has a space for me to list that week’s To-Do items and also a shopping list. When that space is full, place a sticky note over the top and keep on adding.

The sticky note can then be removed if it’s your shopping list for example and taken in the store with you. No more worrying about leaving your list at home as long as you have your planner with you.

I also love Project Life cards. I hit the jackpot one day and found 2 large boxes of them at a local discount store for only $5 a box. I can use them just about anywhere you can think of.

These are perfect to add to my pages for more writing space. I just attach it to the page with a piece of washi tape and voila. A lot of the Project Life cards also have inspirational sayings which is always helpful when opening your planner.

Now you have absolutely no excuse to not stay organized. Get out there and make the most of your week with some really pretty organizational tips. A pretty and organized planner always make your week feel not so hectic, as least for me it does.

Why I Don't Spend a Fortune on a Planner Anymore

Well I guess I am going to just continue a little mini series today for the New Year that actually unintentionally happened. A new year just brings about this nostalgia for me of starting fresh. (I know I sound like a complete nerd.)

I shared my Rockstar Posts of 2015 and also what my focus for 2016 is going to be last week just in case you missed it.

Today though is all about staying organized with a new planner. Now for those of you who didn’t know, (chances are you probably already know this if you are reading this but,) there are some serious planner addicts out there with Facebook groups and all sorts of collections of planner accessories.

How to Have a Great Planner without Breaking the Bank

I love a planner and all the fun goodies that can come along with a planner just like the rest of them, but let’s be honest. It doesn’t take long for the amount you spend to keep stacking up higher and higher before you realize it. Then your husband is looking at you like, “Really, you needed one more roll of washi tape to go along with the other 100 rolls you already have?”

Don’t feel like you have to break the bank just to have a cute yet functional planner that works for you. You can still keep your planner and all the fun stuff within your budget. Plus your husband will thank you for it too.

Disclaimer: I am SO NOT against all the planners that you see out there on the internet. I am guilty myself of having a particular one that is very popular in the planner world. I just want y’all to know that there is another way too.

First of all, Get a planner that will work best for you and your schedule.

Of course there are so many different kinds online and in stores from monthly, to weekly, to even daily if you want to stay that organized.

I found this planner at Target for around $12. So affordable, and I love it! It looks simple and classy at the same time with the touch of pink on the band.

I have a monthly view on the calendar as well as weekly.

What attracted me to this particular planner as well are the weekly sheets. It gives me a place to write goals and tasks for the week to keep me on track. If you don’t write down your goals to stay accountable, chances are you will forget and just won’t do it.

There are also areas for me to write in monthly goals each month. Bonus!

Next, feel free to spruce it up some too.

I have a slight addiction, okay major addiction to washi tape. I love that it comes in so many different designs and colors for just about anything. Plus it is very inexpensive. I use washi a lot to decorate my planner with.

You can add it to the front cover if yours is too plain and boring. I love the gold sparkly washi tape I had to add to the first page when you open the planner.

You can also choose different style washi to decorate each month with on the monthly calendar page. There is some really cute holiday washi out there too.

Project Life cards and sticky notes are a fun way to add extra space in your planner if you are needing it. I use them to make grocery lists to stick in my planner so I won’t forget them.

You can also use paper clips that are in different shapes and colors to add an extra touch to keep your place for whatever week it may be.

All of these items can also be found at your local dollar store or my favorite is the dollar spot at Target.

Every good planner also needs an awesome pen.

Some pens cost more money and work really well, but I have found that these pens from the dollar spot at Target are my favorite. They don’t bleed through the pages and write very smoothly. They are much better than the old style Target used to carry that clicked.

How to Have a Great Planner without Breaking the Bank

Once you have a planner that works best for you and has the style or look you want with a few simple decorations, you are ready to get organized and conquer the world (or maybe just this week to start off).

I will be sharing later this week more ideas of how to use washi tape to keep you organized in your planner along with other tips and ideas. Stay tuned!

Having a functional and organized planner that works for you and your family doesn't have to cost a fortune. You can make a more affordable one work too with these life-changing tips from thesoutherncouture.com.
