Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and now a fresh start with a new year in 2021. To kick things off this year with my Bible study, I am working through the January kit, Mess to Message, from Illustrated Faith. I recently shared an unboxing video as well as supplies I pulled and how I’m keeping them organized. Today I can’t wait to share ideas for using the supplies in the kit with watercolors, acrylic paints, printables, and more.

To go along with this kit, I designed lots of printables in my Etsy shop that are perfect for this whole messy theme of art. The whole collection is “Beautifully Imperfect” and can be found HERE. Make sure to use the coupon code NEWYEAR15 for 15% off the entire collection for the first week.

Check out the video below where I’m sharing a couple entries in my Illustrating Bible where I have worked through the first devotional as well as the new printables in my shop.

I am obsessed with the message cards that are included in the kit. It’s so fun to find different ways to layer color and “mess” behind the stencil.

Let me know in the comments below if you are working through the kit too. I would love to know! Also don’t forget to grab your printables now while they are on sale. God bless!

Round-up of 2020 Advent Bible Journaling Entries

I thought I would share a round-up of 2020 Advent Bible journaling entries now so you can hopefully have some inspiration and encouragement to keep working through your own study.

This year Advent has been such a blessing for me not only for my creative side but also for some “me time” since having a newborn and toddler this year that keep me so busy. My hymnal flip book and Advent designated Illustrating Bible are probably my favorites so far. I wanted to share my entries thus far so you can still have some inspiration and ideas for your own study.

If you missed my other video sharing my plans for this year, you can check it out HERE. I go into all the detail of why I chose to do two different entries as well.

Perfect Black Pen for Bible Journaling

I have found the perfect black pen for Bible journaling and notetaking on even thin, traditional Bible pages. You will want to grab them right away too!

A perfect black pen is one thing that I search out all the time. I am always trying new ones and testing them in all my Bibles and planner. I guess you could say I am sort of obsessed with it. So when I tried the Zebra Zensations Technical Drawing Pens, I knew I was hooked and couldn’t wait to share with y’all too.

Perfect Black Pen for Bible Journaling

So many of you will ask me what my favorite pens are especially for journaling Bibles. None of us want bleed through which can be hard to find with a black pen. These Zebra pens don’t bleed through at all! You will only have minimal shadowing with the thicker point ones.

Perfect Black Pen for Bible Journaling

Check out the video below where I share more details and also show the pages in a couple different Bibles of mine where I have used them.

The pages in the (in)courage Devotional Bible are very thin like a traditional Bible. I was skeptical the Zebra pens wouldn’t bleed through with them being so thin. But I was happily surprised! No bleed through at all!!

Perfect Black Pen for Bible Journaling

I also tried them in my Illustrating Bible which does have 75% thicker pages, and they worked amazing! What’s even better is that they have even the thinnest points with the lowest being 0.1. I love that for writing in my Bible. I don’t want a pen that writes too thick.

Perfect Black Pen for Bible Journaling

Have you tried these out before or heard of them? Let me know in the comments below. I would love to know what you think too. Make sure to grab yours HERE for your next Bible journaling entries. God bless!
