I have enjoyed this month thus far and being able to study through my Advent Devotional from The Daily Grace Co. I love being able to take inspiration from a devotional, especially this time of year, and use it to illustrate in my own journaling Bible. The illustration below from a recent entry was inspired exactly this way. I knew I had to illustrate something beautiful  during my most favorite time of year.

This entry was made using my Faber Castell gelatos with several from the metallic set. Gelatos are my most favorite medium to work with. The possibilities are truly endless and a blast to work with. Plus they look like lipstick. Maybe you have never heard of them or want to learn more about how to use them, then you are in luck for sure. For this entry, I wanted to keep things simple but elegant and fancy at the same time. I love seeing all the gold and white pumpkins that people use to decorate with as a nice break from all the bright orange. This was definitely an inspiration for this entry.

I used a geometric pattern in the printable with neutral tones using Psalm 136:1 as my focus: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

PRINT YOUR FREE PRINTABLE NOW!

I used my metallic set of Faber Castell gelatos to add some pops of color and shimmer to the page. Gelatos look like lipstick and glide onto the page like a crayon. You can use these several different ways. Today I will show you my favorite technique.

Give Thanks Free Bible Journaling Printable

To keep with the geometric pattern, I applied the gelato directly to the page as if using a crayon in the same pattern as the printable.

Using a damp washcloth, start rubbing the cloth over the gelato on the page to spread the color on the page and even give a watercolor effect too. Be careful to only use a damp cloth, and do not apply water too heavily to the page.

With the other 3 small printables, I used different shades of gelatos for each one with the same technique as above.

I applied the printable card to the margin using scrapbook adhesive and gold foil washi tape. How adorable is that washi tape?

Finish out the page as well by emphasizing the verse either with a pen or highlighter and then a date stamp.

I added a tab to the top of the page using gold glitter scrapbook paper and a tab punch.

I can’t believe I am saying this already, but Yep, it’s back to school time. Where did summer go? In my neck of the woods, it seems to get shorter and shorter every year.

This time of year can be very stressful with a new schedule, packing lunches everyday, homework, ball practice, etc. Feeling tired yet?

Well I have good news because I have the perfect solution for that chaos today. (Plus an awesome tool that will help you the rest of the school year with your kiddos and even benefit you too.)

Bible Journaling Printable

In order to deal with the craziness of back to school time, you need an outlet to escape and enjoy some time for yourself. For me, that escape is Bible journaling. I am able to relax, enjoy a hobby, while also feeling refreshed from studying and meditating on God’s word.

I designed this particular entry based on Proverbs 17:22 that states, “A JOYFUL heart is good medicine…” I don’t know about you, but for me chaos can really try to steal your joy and make you stressed out.

Free Printable for Bible Journaling Entry

That’s exactly where this entry came from during times when I just need that little reminder that joy can reign supreme over stress and worry. Keep reading to get your FREE printable for a Bible journaling entry of your own.

Now for that fun tool I have found to use for all my Bible journaling printables and printables to keep me organized throughout the school year.

What I really do love about this printer and that will help make your life so much easier is that it is an all-in-one printer that is still affordable. You can quickly print, scan, and copy while also being compact for small dorms rooms or offices.

Now here is the best part. The printer is wireless and also can connect to your smartphone or tablet. I can be out shopping and see something on my phone that I just love and don’t want to forget to print later. All I have to do is send it to my printer, and it is waiting for me at home.

I can’t tell you how many times I have been sitting on the couch and (Yes, I’ll admit it) I’m too lazy to get up right then to print a coupon. Now I just send it to the printer no matter what room I’m in.

I have found this printer to be perfect for any organizing printables you may want to use during the school year. For some stress relief, get out your journaling Bible and print your FREE “Joyful” printable that I used today HERE.

I started my entry by using gelatos that I rubbed on the page like crayons in a circular motion.

Free Printable for Bible Journaling Entry

Rub over the gelatos using a damp cloth for a more watercolor appearance. I suggest using the colors in the printable to match everything.

Free Printable for Bible Journaling Entry

Then I used washi tape to attach the larger card to illustrate the verse. This is the perfect solution for anyone who doesn’t feel particularly artistic. Add your tab at the top using a tab punch and scrapbook paper in order to quickly reference the entry.

Free Printable for Bible Journaling Entry

Using the scrapbook adhesives, I attached the smaller circles throughout the page for accents. I also used a date stamp to remember the time I made this page.

Free Printable for Bible Journaling Entry

I then added extra accents with a black pen in a cross pattern under the printable card and around the page. I just love the paper I printed the cards on with a pop of floral once you raise the card.
