This has to be my favorite hack for the not-so-artistic Bible journaler. Try using your favorite coloring pages to add designs to your entries. Let me show you exactly how with this simple idea and tutorial.

I can’t believe we are getting close to the end of my “All About the Bible Journaling” series. I have enjoyed sharing so much goodness and techniques with y’all that I hope you have enjoyed too. The last time we talked in this series, I shared all about stamping from different types and different ways to use them. Today we are talking about a fun hack I have for those of you that may not feel so artistic. (Even though I think we are all artistic in our own way. 😉 )
COLORING PAGES!! In the last few years, they have been all the rage with adult coloring blowing up. There are even journaling Bibles out there that have illustrations designed for you to color yourself. With a few simple steps, I can’t wait for you to use your own coloring pages in your next entry today.
How To:
#1: Find the coloring page you want. Also keep in mind that you do not need an entire coloring page or something to fill the entire page of your Bible or journal. Cut parts of different coloring pages out and use what you like.
#2: Place the coloring page or cutouts under the page you are working on. You can apply them to the back of the page using washi tape to keep them in place when tracing. *Just be careful when removing the tape to not tear the page. Washi tape is very gentle and removes easily.
#3: Start tracing lightly the coloring page with a pencil until you have finished the entire design and are happy with the results.
#4: Using a colored pen or Faber Castell PITT artist pen, write over the pencil to make the design stand out more.
#5: Start your coloring using colored pencils. If you use a permanent pen, you can even use watercolors to color in your design. Once you are done, just remove the coloring page from the back of your journaling page.
You now have the most beautiful entry that did not take a ton of time or work or “artistic ability”. You are an artist and do not let anyone ever tell you differently. Coloring pages will now just help you believe it too and get those gorgeous results. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below. I hope you enjoy and God bless!
