February is about studying the Women of the Bible with DaySpring’s brand new devotional kit. And the good news is we are going to continue this study with a little series throughout March and April. I hope you will join with me too. If you haven’t grabbed your kit yet, you can snag it up HERE.
If you would like to also work through this kit in community, then head over to Facebook and join the DaySpring Bible Journaling Group. There will be a place to post your entries as you work through each devotional while also gaining inspiration from others. Today I want to share a few ideas for your own entries as you start this journey.
Using the (in)courage Devotional Bible
If you haven’t seen the (in)courage Devotional Bible, it is amazing! It has over 300 devotionals that are organized by a color system that is just perfect. Because this kit is also written by (in)courage writers, it makes it a great tool for journaling. There is a small lined space at the bottom of the pages for mini Bible journaling entries. Below is an entry I did using supplies from the kit. I plan to use this same kind of layout as I work through each devotional and study these women.
Using the Illustrating Bible
The Illustrating Bible is such a large space with extra wide margins making it really fun to work with all sorts of supplies including the gelatos pigment stick that comes in the kit. I love adding that extra color to my background and playing around with different techniques.
Check out an idea for using gelatos with a baby wipe/damp cloth technique and also with stamping and a wet paintbrush. These tutorials are very easy to follow if you have never used gelatos or want to learn a new technique.
Using a Travelers Notebook
I decided to keep all the devotional cards from the kit in a travelers notebook. I love having them all in one place. Plus I can use all the space for really journaling any reflections, prayers, Bible study notes, etc. It’s also perfect for on-the-go when you are waiting in the doctor’s office, car rider line, and more.
What other great ideas do you have for working through this kit? I would love to hear if you want to drop a comment below. These next three months are going to be a blast as we study the Women of the Bible. God bless!
