We all love getting Christmas cards in the mail but what a fun way to display them using a framed Christmas card display with string Christmas lights. I have used old frames before with wire to hang pictures, but I just love how the string Christmas lights takes this to a whole other level.
I love checking the mail in December and looking for all the fun Christmas cards that arrive. It is so much more fun than just getting the same old bills in the mail. People used to write more letters, and I wish we still did. Thatโs why I love sending and receiving Christmas cards.
It is one thing to receive Christmas cards, but you have to display them so others can see them and enjoy them too. Which is why I love being able to hang them on this framed display.
What you will need:
Frame- I usually find picture frames at thrift stores or yard sales that normally are older pictures. Just remove the backing and glass. It is so much cheaper than buying a new picture and only using the frame.
String Christmas lights
Miniature clothes pins- I found the ones I used at Michaels and love them because they were Christmas themed with red and green decoration which added just that extra touch.
Christmas cards and photos- You can also use photos from past Christmas memories to remember them too.
Hammer
Picture hanging nails
First measure where you will want your stringed lights to hang and mark with an ink pen. I hung extra lines across mine just to have more lights glowing.
Then hammer small nails in each spot where you marked leaving the nail raised some still.
Wrap your Christmas lights around each nail hammering the nail over the light string to keep it in place.
*Be sure to leave enough of the lights at the beginning to reach to plug in or use an extension cord.
Once your lights are in place, add some miniature clothes pins and get ready for the cards to arrive in the mail.
Once they start coming in now you are ready to hang your Christmas cards and photos. You will love being able to show off your favorites to guests at parties and dinners. Enjoy remembering those who are closest to you with their Christmas cards displayed now for everyone.
Also be sure to check out a scrumptious ornament I shared yesterday and the rest of the 12 Days of Christmas series.
Also if you have not already, please join me on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. I would love to hear from you with any comments, suggestions, or ideas you may have.

Your welcome. They are mine too. I love how a simple decoration goes to another level once the lights are turned on.

This is adorable! I just have to do it now. In fact, I have some cute gold glittery clothespins that have been sitting in my craft box for too long! Thanks!

That’s awesome. I love when I see something and then I have had the same supplies for a while but didn’t know exactly what to do with them. I hope you will make it. You will love it!
