Christmas is just right around the corner and we all want to get some of that shopping done early before the craziness really starts to set in. Today is the day to mark off some people on your list or maybe even find a few fun things for Santa to bring you too. I’m sharing my Top 10 Favorite Cricut Products that are perfect for beginners who just got a machine, have learned a few basics, or even the crafter who has never used a Cricut machine. Let’s go Christmas shopping!
I have more details about each item below and I’m also showing them in more up close detail in my latest video. Hope these are helpful!
This crafting machine is a MUST. Whether you have never used a Cricut machine or want an upgrade from an older machine, go for the Cricut Maker!! Trust me. Most Cricut machines are known for cutting, but this one does so much more that I call it the crafting machine instead.
You can cut over 300 different materials including fabric, paper, leather, and even chipboard. They even have a set of QuickSwap tools that allow you to deboss, engrave, perforate, score, and more. And for those who want to craft even more, you can use the Fast Mode for 2x faster cutting and writing.
Before you can cut out or craft any material, you must have a machine mat to place the material on. Sounds like a no brainer huh? What’s really cool though is that Cricut has several different kinds with LightGrip, StrongGrip, and FabricGrip too depending if you are cutting fabric, leather, paper, etc.
Once you have a Maker, you are going to want to try out iron-on vinyl first. It has to be my most favorite material to craft with because I love being able to personalize just about anything now. Cricut also offers glitter iron-on, mesh, sportflex, foil, and so much more. I made these customized baseball t-shirts for our family and love how they turned out. Plus it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg to have them made specially somewhere else.
When working on any project, you have to have the right tools or you will just about pull all your hair out. This tool set has the basics and more to get you going. I love the weeding tool to make using iron-on vinyl a breeze. The spatula is one I grab for constantly when removing material from the cutting mat. And don’t even get me started on these scissors. The quality and sharpness is superb. Below is the tool set made especially for those who love to sew.
I’ve mentioned iron-on vinyl and a weeding tool, but now you must meet the BrightPad. Don’t even worry about having to weed the most intricate cuts with iron-on vinyl, because the BrightPad makes it super easy. The LED light has 5 brightness settings so you can also use it for tracing or anything else that would cause eye strain.
Cricut EasyPress 2 and EasyPress Mini
Once you have a Maker and the iron-on vinyl, you are going to want the EasyPress2 or EasyPress Mini to make your life so much easier. I love customizing t-shirts more than anything and love how easy it is now. You get professional heat transfer results without any guesswork thanks to Cricut’s online settings guide. There is even temperature control up to 400 degrees F.
I love that the Cricut machines can even write for you. You can have your own customized stationary, invitations, labels, and more. They also have a ton of colors and variety packs to choose from. They also come in all different point sizes depending on the look you want. I’ve also been known to use these pens for just jotting down notes or in my planner. I love them that much.
If you want to give the gift that takes out all the stress of crafting, then Cricut’s iron-on designs are perfect. For someone that is a little timid to start with the Maker but wants a fun project, you can’t go wrong with these designs. Bundle them with the EasyPress 2 and you are all set. All they have to do is iron them onto a shirt, bag, or whatever their heart desires.
Another beginner material that is really fun to work with to customize a mug, home decor, and more is vinyl. You can really do so many things with it and keep coming up with new ideas. Layer different colors for even more fun. Try out the patterned vinyls for a fun project too.
Now that you have all the fun tools and accessories, you may be wondering what exactly you are going to make now. It can be overwhelming. You are going to want a Cricut Access membership for Cricut’s Design Space software to help you out. You will have access to over 400 fonts, 100,000 images, make-it-now projects, and more. Plus you will get discounts to their website and free shipping benefits. No more wondering how to get started. Cricut Access has you covered!
Now you are all set and ready to get some Christmas shopping done! I hope this gift guide is helpful for you. I know as a crafter and lover of Cricut, I would be thrilled to have any of these goodies under the tree Christmas morning. And if you love Cricut and crafting too, then feel free to share this guide with your “Santa”. Happy Crafting!
