Y’all know how much I love making things simpler. My husband always says, “Work smarter, not harder.” Well that’s exactly what I like to do even when it comes to Bible journaling. I want all of us to be able to enjoy it and not become overwhelmed. As I work through the first week of The Joy Journal devotional from Illustrated Faith, I wanted to show some ideas for doing just that.

One way of keeping things simpler is to use printables. I just released bunches of new designs in my Etsy shop, ShopSouthernCouture, that coordinate with The Joy Journey. (You will also find some to pair with the DaySpring Women of the Bible: Friendship on Purpose kit.) There are so many goodies and even one brand new design that I’ve never used before. My favorite has to be these new collage arts below that are totally inspired by the whole look of the kit. Grab yours HERE. 

The first week is all about identity. The words Ali Brown, the author and designer of the kit, used really stood out to me. We are brides of Christ. What a beautiful image. Check out the process video below to see how I’m working in my journaling Bible. 

For collage arts and certain other elements, be sure to print them on clear sticker paper or Avery 8665 full sheet shipping labels for the transparent background. The sticky notes and TN journaling cards are perfect printed on cardstock paper. 

By layering the collage arts and the messy cards from the kit, you get this really cool effect of transparency that is stunning. I’m simply obsessed with this whole look and feel.
