What in your life can you just not live without? That special someone, dark chocolate, cuddles on the couch? Okay well maybe thatโs what I canโt live without, but we all have certain things that are special to us and make our lives so much better.
The same can be true for our hobbies and those things that may seem insignificant to others. I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, and I am so glad that I finally got around to it. Today I have 6 craft supplies that are a must have for me and should be in your craft inventory at all times.
Now itโs time to take out your clipboard and start that inventory list now. You will want to make sure that you have these must haves on hand for any craft mood that may come your way suddenly. Donโt be stranded without them.
Craft Paint
One of the favorite parts of my craft room is my craft paint collection. For one craft paint is great to use on just about any project you can think of. When you are needing a little something to cover up a mess up on a project, turn to your paint for the answer.
I have a shelf hanging on my craft room pegboard that holds all my craft paint and is organized by color. All the bright colors lined up perfectly just bring a smile to my face when I walk in the room. You can never have enough color.
Foam Paintbrushes
I remember the days and hours spent in art class in high school standing over a sink washing out my paint brushes for what seemed like forever to get all the paint out and try to salvage them for another class. Thanks to the invention of foam paintbrushes you no longer have to experience what I did.
Many times I will wash them out if I just used them for something small, but in case the foam gets worn out then all I have to do is toss them in the trash. They are so inexpensive to replace too.
And if that isnโt enough, the foam doesnโt leave bristle marks like traditional paintbrushes do. I also have foam spouncers that are handy for stenciling and painting polka dots too.
Mod Podge
If you havenโt heard of mod podge then where in the world are you? Mod podge comes in so many different varieties including different finishes and also spray adhesive too. It is great to use for covering objects in paper, fabric, etc. Because it dries clear, you can use it on just about anything as a glue.
The mod podge spray adhesive worked wonders when I made my own photo coasters which is a great gift idea too.
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
When you are needing something a little more heavy duty than mod podge, you always have your hot glue gun. Now you may be thinking that hot glue can only be used on certain items, but much to my surprise I have tried hot glue on just about anything and it really does work.
I have a low temp hot glue gun that is still very powerful and works great. I actually love that it is low temp so that it dries faster and also doesnโt burn me in the process.
Washi Tape
I could probably write a book about my love for washi tape. There are so many different things you can do with washi tape which is what makes it so great. I use it all the time to organize my planner. You can also take something that is plain and boring and just put some washi tape on it, and you have a brand new item. Take your gift wrapped packages to another level with washi tape.
You want to talk about endless possibilities? Then donโt forget to include washi tape designs. There are so many different colors and styles that it really becomes a hobby of collecting them if you arenโt careful. You can get different sizes and widths, and it even comes in fabric and glitter prints too.
Paper Straws
I love cake pops!! They are so delicious and just the most adorable dessert I have ever seen. Paper straws take them to the next level of cuteness.
But I have also found recently that paper straws can be used for more than just drinking straws and cake pops. Use them to make different crafts too. I have seen them used for making even wreaths. You could also get sucked in to collecting them kinda like the washi tape because they have so many different colors and designs. You have been warned.
Now that your inventory is complete, you better get your shopping list ready and get to it. You do not want to be empty handed the next time a craft crisis occurs or just the urge to start on a new project.
Enjoy the little things in life such as your craft room and supplies.
