Looking for something sweet to snack on that would also be perfect for an Easter egg hunt or spring party? I have the perfect treat for you. Plus itโs easy to make and fun to make with the kiddos too.
One of my favorite desserts is rice krispy treats. I have always loved them so much and loved having them packed in my lunch as a child. So why not combine them with a lollipop stick and you have a new fun treat.
If you werenโt aware, which you should be so where have you been friend, I love cake pops! They are so much fun to make and decorate. I have collected quite the assortment of paper straws as well for lots of occasions which takes the cute factor to another level.
I think really putting anything on a stick makes it delicious. So have fun with these and why not make some to snack on while your kids dye those eggs for the much anticipated hunt this weekend.
*I also just use the recipe from the Rice Krispy cereal box but change it up some with sprinkles and candy melts. Choose whatever candy you like to add in them.
Ingredients and supplies:
- Rice Krispy cereal
- Marshmallows
- Butter
- Sprinkles– I chose Easter and spring themed sprinkles.
- Candy melts– You can pick whatever colors you like best at most craft stores.
- Miniature cookie cutters– I found this set at Joann with lots of different spring themed shapes.
- Lollipop sticks or paper straws
Prepare your rice krispy treats. I made mine like I said above according to the Rice Krispy cereal box which calls for melting together ยพ stick of butter and 10 oz. marshmallows together. Then combine with 6 cups of rice krispy cereal. I then went ahead and stirred in different Easter sprinkles. Press the rice krispy mixture into a 13โx9โ pan and let cool completely. Now how cute are those little white bunny sprinkles?
Cut your rice krispies out using the miniature cookie cutters.
Then place a lollipop stick or paper straw in the bottom of each one. *I placed a large skinny fork into the end of each rice krispy flower to get the hole started which helped when adding the paper straw to keep it from falling apart.
Melt your candy melts or chocolate according to package directions.
You could dip the whole treat into the candy melts or place some of the melted candy into an icing bag to use to decorate them with. I also just use a Ziploc bag and cut a tiny corner off one edge for an opening.
Decorate them by drizzling the chocolate and also sprinkle the chocolate with whatever sprinkles you choose.
Your spring pops are now ready to enjoy! You could also wrap them in a treat bag and place them in your childrenโs Easter baskets.
Place them on a cute Easter serving dish with a glass of milk and you are ready for the perfect snack. Hey, why not even dip them in the milk too. Sounds yummy! I think I will go get one for me now.
Enjoy this sweet snack this weekend and all the fun you have planned for Easter.
