Thanksgiving will be here before we even know it and can barely even blink. But that is perfectly fine with me because I love this time of year. It is definitely one of my most favorite times.
I just wish it would slow down some once it gets here. It seems to pass twice as fast as it did for it to get here. With all the Fall and Christmas decorating, you want your efforts to last a little longer too.
Today I have the most beautiful Fall centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner. First of all, it is so easy to make. Second, your kids can also get involved and help you. While they are decorating pumpkins, you can have your own adult fun too. (Sometimes I just feel like such a big kid myself.)
Combine a pumpkin, floral bouquet, and burlap for a rustic and beautiful centerpiece. Your guests will think you spent so much time and money, but we will keep the real truth a secret.
My husband and I had the pleasure of going to a local farm earlier this week and being able to pick our own pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. I look forward to this every year, so we couldnโt stop the tradition now.
I have to share this funny story too. I am a huge bargain shopper, so when I found that in the farmโs produce store that they had a clearance rack I was ecstatic. I found several pumpkins that had been marked down to only $0.99.
And we arenโt talking just tiny little pumpkins. These were full size, larger ones like the one I used for this project. It made my heart happy. Sometimes it truly is just the little things that do it for me.
Now letโs get started making this centerpiece so you can โWowโ all your guests too.
First start by cutting a circle on the top of the pumpkin to make a hole. *I thought this picture makes me look a little crazy with the knife so please be careful when cutting yours.
Clean out all the guts from the inside. *This is where the kids will love to get involved and get their hands messy.
Before filling the pumpkins with water, I decided to tie a burlap ribbon around the pumpkin to give it an extra rustic feel that would work perfect with my dining room table as well.
Next I filled a cup with water that fit inside perfectly to keep the flowers hydrated. *It is hard to see in the picture, but the cup is there. Trust me.
*You could also use a floral foam block that you can wet and then insert the flowers into to keep them hydrated and also stay standing the way you prefer. I didnโt have one on hand and decided to use the cup instead.
This beautiful bouquet of flowers came from ProFlowers and was delivered right to my door. All I had to do is open the beautiful packaging and get to decorating. Along with the bouquet was a beautiful glass vase that I canโt wait to use in the future too.
They have a large Halloween collection as well with flowers perfectly colored and chosen for this time of year.
Start measuring the flowers by placing them and trimming them as you need. Then place the flowers and arrange them how you like.
I placed my pumpkin on the table in the middle of a grapevine wreath. I spread moss around the pumpkin inside the wreath.
I love the appearance this pumpkin gives to really tie the whole table together.
For each place setting, I used a bright green placemat and then placed vintage books in the middle opened up with a miniature grapevine wreath on top. Add a mini pumpkin and moss inside the wreath to match the centerpiece.

You could also place it on your front porch with other pumpkins and Fall decor once the dinner is over.
