Get ready for all those summer gatherings with this bright DIY outdoor utensil caddy that will keep everything organized and bright at the same time.
Who is so ready and glad that summer is here? I know I am. The last few months I have been sick off and on which made it really hard for me to get some energy. Being outdoors more with this bright sunshine makes it even better.
I love to keep things organized when having guests over which is why I have the perfect quick and easy craft project today for you to make in no time. This DIY outdoor utensil caddy took me less than 30 minutes and only a few dollars.
Letโs get you going for the perfect addition to a bright party tablescape.
Supplies:
- Cardboard scraps
- Scissors
- Metal pail
- Spray paint
- Utensils & Napkins
First measure and cut 2 pieces of cardboard or thick cardstock just slightly shorter than the length and height of the pail.
Then cut a slit in each piece about 2/3 of the height. *Do not cut it in two.
Below is how your cardboard pieces and pail are going to look but you must spray paint first before putting together completely.
Spray paint your cardboard pieces and metal pail until completely covered evenly. I chose this coral color from Liquitex spray paints. I actually found it on clearance at Michaels and love it. The quality is superb and coated the pail so evenly and perfect.
Once everything has dried completely, put the 2 cardboard pieces together by attaching them at the slits. Just slide the 2 open slits into each other to form a cross and place it inside the pail.
Now just add your different utensils, napkins, etc. for the perfect DIY outdoor utensil caddy. No more having to dig through the utensils for a fork but always digging out the knives that no one uses.
This would also be great used for organizing different markers, pencils, etc. and other art supplies.
Now give me a high five for simple and easy craft projects that make our lives simpler and more colorful at the same time.

Thank you so much for the sweet words and for pinning with others. It is great to keep everything in one place. Plus you don’t have to worry about the napkins blowing away. That always seemed to happen to me before I made this one.
